Qi Kong is a form of sequential and intentional breathing exercises similar to Tai Chi, but easier to follow and to perform. They are slow and safe, however; they can also be challenging as we hold postures and perform slow movements with subtle gestures while coordinating the mechanics with breath work —together with visualization of acupuncture meridian trajectories and integration of basic yin yang principles Qi Kong is a very powerful and healing practice of self care and cultivation.
the 1 hr session will also include a warm up of some Yoguini exercises taken from a spinal longevity routine of a Kundalini Yoga tradition (a form of simple yoga breathing exercises and repetitive movements) —
these 2hr sessions begin with 30-40 minutes of intentional breathing and movements from Qi Kong (breathing exercises similar to Tai Chi, but easier to follow and perform) together with some Yoguini exercises taken from a spinal longevity routine of a Kundalini Yoga tradition (a form of simple yoga breathing exercises and repetitive movements) —
opening the acupuncture meridians after the breathing exercises, participants lay down on their yoga mats for an acupuncture treatment according to the seasons with the intention to integrate ourselves with the transformative qualities of the 5 elements of nature – water, wood, fire, earth and metal. Together with this acupuncture treatment comes a gentle, yet powerful experience of the senses as Tibetan singing bowls vibrate, and plants and incense burn to cleanse our subtle energetic body with smoke to aide the entering of deeper states of introspection.
Softened by sound and smoke, the session is closed with a personal prayer/intention deposited into a cup of hot Cacao in an effort to connect to our true selves, to our higher purpose, to our guides…no matter what language you chose to use to commune with the sacred and divine in your life and your practice, this final moment is an offering of gratitude and awareness of a connection we want to nourish together.
